Arnold Blanch (1986-1968)
American
Arnold Blanch was born in Mantorville, Minnesota in 1896.
He studied at the Minneapolis School of Arts, as well as at the Art
Students League in New York City. His early work adopted a method
of painting that was similar to American Scene Painters Thomas Hart
Benton and Grant Wood. He was interested in celebrating nostalgia
for the rural experience and pre-industrial America life in the Midwest.
Blanch’s later work explored modernist techniques and styles.
